Lessons

Horseback riding is a challenging and rewarding sport and is completely within the reach of EVERYONE!

Woodland teaches English balance seat riding which is excellent for the beginning rider, the intermediate rider and the advanced rider who is looking to broaden his/her experience. We offer lessons in dressage, jumping, eventing and just all around riding. The goal of our program is to teach the student the safety of horsemanship, the art of understanding the horse and the relationship between the horse and the rider.

We have separate lessons for children and adults.  Our children' s program is divided by age - 5 to 7 year olds are in Pony Pals while those 8 to 15 are in children lessons.  Pony Pal lessons are taught in a safe, fun environment with parents as part of the class; they walk beside the horse and help their child.  Older children are placed in classes based on riding ability.  Part of the lesson program includes ring etiquette, trail riding, jumping and basic dressage.

Our instructors teach adults how to ride by combining safety with a sense of humor. We teach the beginning adult, the adult returning to riding after many years, the adult who wants to improve his/her riding. Riding is a great stress reliever for our busy life styles and a great way to have fun.

Woodland
offers FREE introductory lessons every Sunday at 1:00 p.m. for those interested in learning more (Intro lessons limited to one per person annually for those interested in enrolling in lessons only).  Participants must wear hard sole shoes (no sandals), long pants and sign an disclaimer before riding.  Helmets are available for use in the intro class if you don't have one.
